Well over a thousand runners and wheelchair racers will take to the streets as 2020 sees the 6th year of this very popular town-centre race – and we’re delighted to be sponsored once again by Love Bedford!
Love Bedford is the successful customer-facing brand created by Bedford Business Improvement District (BID) to promote over 500 town centre businesses, large and small, retail, services.
This year we are helping to raise money for Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger – a very well deserving local charity providing expert care and support for people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Last year one fantastic team managed to get a massive 131 runners together to raise money! Could this be beaten?
The course will take you along Bedford’s loveliest avenues. Starting on the beautiful Victorian embankment, you’ll breeze along the tree-lined Park Avenue, DeParys Avenue – then with just a mile to go you’ll be lifted by the crowds as you fly down the High Street and finish in grand style alongside the river Great Ouse. You may never make the Olympics but you’ll certainly feel the crowd behind you!
Whether you’re a world-beater, a fun-runner or a fund-raiser this a great chance for a personal best. The course is flat and very fast!
Race Headquarters is in Russell Park and so plenty of room for side stalls and entertainment. If you’d like to be involved let us know!
Refreshments will also be available from the Kiosk in Russell Park.
With so much going on why not come along and support the runners. The start and finish of the race is at Russell Park on the beautiful Bedford Embankment you can also get involved as a Run Maker helping marshal the course – see details below.
