The Foresters Arms, Bedford, is celebrating after picking up two accolades at Wells & Co.’s annual Pub Partner Awards for their achievements throughout the last year.
Located in the heart of Wells & Co.’s home county, The Foresters Arms fought off tough competition from the business’ pub partners to take home two awards, including Best Newcomer and the Rising Star award.
Having reopened in late 2018 with a fresh new look, the team at The Foresters Arms were commended for their efforts in quickly re-establishing the pub as one of Bedford’s top choices. Recognised by the judges for its focus on supporting local sports and interest groups, the pub took home the prestigious award for Best Newcomer. The team were praised for ensuring they have something to offer everyone from their Pub Classics menu, which is a popular choice for older residents, to their ever-popular monthly quiz.
In addition to the overall win for the pub, dedicated team member Dianne Hawreliak Cuillierrier, who is commonly referred to as ‘pub mum’, also took home the Rising Star award. Her warm character paired with her wide-ranging skillset made Dianne a priceless member of The Foresters Arms’ family.
Dianne comments: “I’m lost for words. I go to work and I do my job to the best of my ability; for my peers to nominate me for this award is just staggering. I’m truly humbled.”
Managing director of Wells & Co., Peter Wells, commented: “Our awards last week were a fitting celebration to what has been another exciting year for Wells & Co. and our pub partners, and we are very proud of each and every one of the winners. This is our third time hosting the annual Pub Partner Awards, and they have become an integral part of our business. It’s vital to recognise the outstanding contribution that each team has given throughout the course of the year. Seeing what great things have come over 2019, we’re all very excited about what 2020 has to offer.”
Hosted at The Bedford Swan Hotel in the heart of the town, the Wells & Co. Awards champions the best performing pub partners within its UK estate. A panel of judges from different areas of the business had the tough job of selecting winning pubs for each of the ten awards, including Best Premium Food Offer, Best Cellar and Best Traditional Food. The ceremony included a lavish three-course dinner and drinks for attendees, as well as fundraising opportunities for Wells & Co’s corporate charity, Prostate Cancer UK.
