Appeal for information after man assaulted in Luton

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Luton on Wednesday, April 29, evening.

The victim was left with serious injuries following the incident at around 7.30pm in Wellington Street.

Emergency services attended the scene and the victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

One man is currently in custody in connection with the offence.

Detective Constable Helen Pecorini, from Bedfordshire Police’s Crime Investigation Team, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have any information about the incident to get in touch with us.

“We believe there were a number of cars in the area at the time, so we would be particularly keen to hear from anyone in those vehicles, especially if they have dash cam footage.

“Any details or information about the area at the time, no matter how small, could be integral to our investigation.”
