Kingsway rec’ stabbing, 19-year-old under arrest

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Luton in the early hours of Thursday, July 2. 

Police were called at around 2.35am to a report that a man had been found on Dunstable Road, Luton, with what were believed to be stab wounds, after an attack in nearby Kingsway Park.

Officers attended and found a second man in the park with similar wounds.

Both men were taken to hospital for treatment to serious but not life-threatening injuries

The man from Luton, arrested in connection with the incident, is currently in police custody. 

Detective Constable Gary Hatton, from Bedfordshire Police’s Crime Investigation Team, said: “This was a very nasty attack and luckily the injuries the two men sustained aren’t believed to be life threatening. 

“We will not tolerate any kind of knife crime and we do all we can to tackle those who use weapons to cause fear or harm to others.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who has any information that could assist our investigation to get in touch.”
