The Chancellor’s announcements have heated up the property market which will give a boost to businesses like RS Kitchens of Bedford.
Designer RIchard Still and his partner Charlotte Baughan decided there was an opportunity in Bedford and opened up their design studio in the Edwardian Arcade, rather than in their home of Milton Keynes.
“We love Bedford. We pick up business from people popping in who want the security of dealing with someone in a permanent location,” said Charlotte.
On top of that the duo win customers from recommendations – one neighbour sees another having a superb and well-designed kitchen fitted and they want the same. With people on the move now thanks to the Stamp Duty incentives, Richard is looking forward to being even busier.
“We’ve been busy throughout the lockdown with inquiries as people were sitting at home getting fed up with their old kitchen, and now they aren’t going on expensive foreign holidays, they’re having a new kitchen instead.”
