Captain Tom Moore is to be knighted by the Queen in his own personal ceremony at Windsor Castle.
The 100-year-old WWII veteran, raised over £32 million for NHS charities, will receive his Knighthood on Friday, July 17, 2020,
The Queen, who is 94 herself, has been staying at Windsor Castle since the lockdown began, will carry out the engagement in person to honour the soon-to-be Sir Tom.
Captain Tom used his grit and determination to walk laps of his garden in Marston Moretaine, quickly surpassing his original target of £1000.
The Queen will use the sword which previously belonged to King George VI and will present Captain Sir Tom with the insignia of Knight Bachelor.
The ceremony will take place at a strictly private event inside the Castle, no members of the public will be allowed.
