Police appeal for witnesses to Lewsey Park area shooting

Bedfordshire Police Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot with a pellet gun in the Lewsey Park area of Luton.

At around 11.45pm on Wednesday, July 22, police received reports of several gun shots being fired in Pastures Way.

Emergency services attended the scene and found a man suffering from what are believed to be pellet gun wounds.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries were not life threatening or life changing.

Detective Sergeant Wil Taylor, from Bedfordshire Police’s Boson team, said: “We are appealing to anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward as this will help us with our enquiries.

“We currently have one man in custody for questioning, but believe there were other people involved, who we are keen to identify.

“Tackling gun crime is a priority for the force and we want to reassure the community that we are doing all we can to investigate this incident.”
