A Leighton Buzzard man who sexually abused two girls was jailed for 63 months on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Gary Roff, 60, carried out the assaults at the end of 2018 and in 2019, Luton Crown Court was told.

Prosecutor Peter Shaw said he told a 12-year-old victim not to tell anyone.

When she told her mother, the second girl – who was 15, said she had also been assaulted by Roff.

In a victim personal statement, one of the girls said: “I just froze, I did not know what to do.”

She said the assaults had made her angry and she had headbutted walls and doors and smacked herself.

Roff, of Richmond Road, Leighton Buzzard, appeared for sentenced having pleaded guilty to four charges of sexual assault.

The court heard Roff was very remorseful and did not understand why he had behaved in such a way.

Jailing him, Judge Mark Bishop said he must abide by the terms of a sexual harm prevention order and register as a sex offender indefinitely.
