A former Ryanair and Wizz Air stewardess, who was based at Luton Airport has been jailed for 28 months.

Alexandra Dobre, 27, was made redundant during the Covid-19 lock-down.

She moved to the UK from Romania three years ago to pursue a career on the airlines.

Dobre met a man on an internet dating site who lived in Stoke-on-Trent, the couple bonded, and she moved to the midlands to be near him.

But finding herself without employment her new boyfriend recruited her in to his drugs business. She acted as a courier delivering ‘Class A’ drugs to various locations.

All this came to an end when police acting on intelligence stopped her car on August 27, 2019.

At the time she was evasive when asked about her address but the police eventually got those details and proceeded to search her flat.

They found a large number of small bags of white powder that tested positive for cocaine in her bedroom.

She was jailed for 28 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court by Judge David Fletcher, who was unimpressed by her story about her strong family upbringing.
