Having been a hobbyist photographer for a few years and working away from home in his previous career in engineering Andy Aston decided to pack all that in and open a studio!
Andy said: “It seemed that there wasn’t anywhere in Bedford or Kempston where, as a hobbyist photographer, you could hire a studio space and set the lighting as you wanted, you had to travel further afield.
Not any more.
After several months of searching for a suitable building for a studio, he settled on a unit on the Woburn Road Industrial Estate.
Then followed three weeks of preparation – Andy has constructed seven ready furnished sets as well as multiple coloured paper backdrops to provide a well equipped studio and always looking to add to the equipment and props.
All sets can be rearranged with furniture for alternative styles.
All professional lighting is included in the hire price and Andy is always on hand to assist with the lighting and scene set ups.
The studio hire is aimed at hobbyist and professional photographers and models as a space to shoot in comfort in an environment specifically designed for photography.
The large dressing area has multiple mirrors and Hollywood style mirror with good lighting for make-up and hair stylists to work with models and also for use is the private kitchen and toilet facilities.
Hire prices are £20 per hour including all lighting and equipment (excluding camera and lenses), with reductions for longer hours. Refreshments are included in the hire.
Andy is also available for family portraits, children’s photos, in fact anything you may need a photograph of.
The studio is also looking for local models, experienced or up and coming, who need a portfolio or just interested in having some images done for their own use.
These can be added to the studio portfolio of models and may be lucky enough to be asked to model by photographers hiring the studio.
