Nine arrested after man murdered in mass brawl

Nine men have been arrested following the murder of a man during a mass brawl in Aylesbury.

The victim, who was in his 20s, was injured in Lembrook Walk on Wednesday evening. (October 28, 2020).

He was taken to hospital where he died. A second man was treated in hospital and has been released.

Thames Valley police have today arrested three more men, bringing the total number of arrests to nine.

The men are all from Buckinghamshire and have been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

They remain in police custody at this time, along with two others, also from Buckinghamshire, who were both arrested on Thursday, October 29, and for whom a warrant of further detention has been granted.

Four other men who were previously arrested have now been released on conditional police bail while investigations continue.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, head of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “We have now made a total of nine arrests in connection with this investigation and are making significant progress in our inquiries.

“Our thoughts remain with the family of the man who has died, and I would like to express my thanks to them for their patience, dignity and understanding while we investigate this incident.

“Our investigation continues at pace, and I would also like to thank the local community for their understanding, and also those who have come forward with information so far.

“We believe that the victim and offenders were known to each other, and I can re-assure the public that we do not believe there is any wider threat in the local community.

“However, I would urge anybody who has information that can assist this investigation who has not yet come forward to please do so, however insignificant you may feel your information may be.
