The Harpur Centre will remain open from the start of Thursday’s new national lockdown for customers to shop at essential retailers and for takeaway food order collection.
The essential retailers expecting to remain open are Boots, Specsavers, Price Check, Grape Tree, Superdrug, Vision Express, WH Smith and NM Money. Food takeaways will be available from Greggs and Starbucks.
Please note this is subject to change with the ever-evolving situation.
The Harpur Centre’s key priority is the safety of its customers and the staff at outlets still trading during the November lockdown. All COVID-secure measures remain in place.
The safety measures include signed walking routes, hand sanitising stations at the entrances and exits, enhanced cleaning regimes, the requirement to wear a face covering unless exempt, maintaining social distance on the mall and inside retail units, and not visiting if experiencing any coronavirus symptoms.
The Harpur Centre’s opening hours are currently unchanged. They are: 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
Due to the restrictions, The Harpur Centre car park will also be closed for the period of national lockdown, however, parking is available at the River Street multi-storey car park adjacent to The Harpur Centre. Visitors can walk through the Howard Centre, visit their essential stores Poundland and Timpsons and enter the Harpur Centre’s essential stores with ease.
The Harpur Centre’s, Centre Manager, Samantha Laycock, said: “We’d like to thank all our customers for playing their part in shopping safely with us during the months since the first national lockdown.
“During this new lockdown, we again ask for their cooperation by carefully following all the rules and advice to ensure their safety and protect the health of their fellow shoppers and the staff who are working here.”
Customers should check The Harpur Centre’s website at http://www.harpurcentre.co.uk/covid-19/ before visiting to check which retailers and eateries are operating, what services they are providing and for the current opening times and access arrangements.
