With the current Covid restrictions preventing normal Remembrance Sunday services, the landlord of the Bedford Arms, Souldrop observed the traditional two minutes silence on his own doorstep.

Stewart Allister a Royal Navy veteran, who with his partner Louise run the pub in the north Bedfordshire village.

Stewart joined the Royal Navy in 1983 and his military career includes tours of Iraq, Northern Ireland, the Caribbean and two of the Falklands.

In the Caribbean the Royal Navy are involved in anti-drug patrols.

Stewart completed 26 years of service with the military in 2009.

Trading conditions are very challenging for many village pubs who were struggling even before the second lock-down, but Stewart and Louise are striving hard to stay afloat!

The pub is offering a take-away service and so far they are keeping their heads above water.

Why not order your next take-away from Louise and Stewart?
