Like many lockdown mums Nicola Harris has had plenty of time to unleash her creative talents in 2020, which has resulted in a TV production.

Her Bedford bridal shop had to close during lockdowns, so Nicola, of Haynes, Bedfordshire, spent the downtime bringing to life an idea from 12 years ago: a children’s TV show called The Fiddlefaddlers!!

Nicola has the advantage of being an Equity card carrying actress, with contacts in the business, including current I’m a Celebrity star Shane Richie, with whom she starred in pantomine.

“In this crazy time I wanted to create something charming, fun and gentle that can educate toddlers. The show has a retro feel that will hopefully still appeal to a modern audience and is full of nostalgic nods to pantomime. There is music, magic, singing & dancing and it’s a lighthearted bit of fun for all the family.

“I have had three full-sized characters made, written a season of six episodes, had a full size working set built, devised lyrics and had an original theme tune composed!

“Luckily, I have called upon some amazing industry colleagues and friends to assist with other creative elements including the wonderful former Dr Who Colin Baker who provides the narration on the show.”

The central character Scatty Hattie is named after Nicola and husband Josh’s two-year-old daughter.

The first episode is due to go LIVE on YouTube on Monday 7th December!
