A man who attacked his former partner in Markyate has been warned he faces a prison sentence. Terence Holcroft, 35, now from Milton Keynes, pleaded guilty on Monday, February 22, 2021, to two charges of causing the woman actual bodily harm and three of common assault against her.

Holcroft, now of Cagney Crescent, Oxley Park, Milton Keynes, admitted one charge of actual bodily arm on October 9, 2018, assault by beating between September 1 and September 30, 2018, assault by beating between November 1 and 30, 2018, assault by beating on December 27, 2018 and causing actual bodily harm on December 27, 2018.

Prosecutor Andrew Howarth did not open the details of the case today at St Albans Crown Court. Defence barrister Gwen Williamson, asked for a probation officer to prepare a pre-sentence report.

She said: “Alcohol played a substantial part in their relationship. “In lockdown he has reflected and considered what has taken place.

Alcohol played a part and it was not healthy. The relationship is over.

There have been no further arrests or incidents in the two years since.” Holcroft had been working for a lifting platform company since January. Recorder Alison Levitt QC bailed him for sentence on Thursday, April 1.

She asked for a victim personal statement to be prepared for the next hearing. She told Holcroft: “It remains an overwhelming likelihood the court will find these offences cross the custody threshold.”

Holcroft was bailed with conditions that he lives at the Milton Keynes address, does not contact the victim directly or indirectly and co-operates with probation officers.
