It is with great sadness that I have to announce that my Dad, Alan Slough passed away peacefully this morning.
For those that didn’t know he has been battling with Parkinson’s for 8 years and the last 2 years have been particularly difficult. It brings great relief to our family to know that he is no longer suffering.
He was a devout Christian and attended Preston Baptist church for many years.
He was a family man that loved his wife, sons, brothers, sister, grandchildren, daughter-in-law’s, brother-in-law in fact he loved everyone.
His love for football was clear for everyone to see.
He had so many amazing stories including playing alongside some of the greatest football players of all time and of course playing in the 1975 FA Cup final.
It goes with out saying that we are absolutely devastated to loose such an amazing man.
He made such an impact on so many people throughout his journey of life.
There was never a day when someone didn’t ask how Dad is.Its been an absolute honour to be his son and I will miss him dearly.
Finally I would like to mention my Mum who has been his rock throughout their 50+ years of marriage. She has cared for him day and night non stop for 8 years.
*Please feel free to share this post and maybe sometime in the near future I will share a collection of his great photos and a few stories.
