Appeal for information following Luton fight involving Samurai sword

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fight in Luton on Monday, April 19, involving weapons. 

At approximately 2.50pm, officers were called to reports of a fight in Reaper Close, where a number of people were threatening each other with what was believed to be a Samurai sword and other weapons.  

PC Taylor Jones, investigating, said: “This incident took place in broad daylight and we believe that there are people who witnessed what happened and can help us with our enquiries. 

“We believe two dangerous weapons – a samurai sword and a baseball bat – were involved, and we are keen to speak to anyone with information who could help us to establish the circumstances of this incident.”

A 34-year-old man from Luton was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including affray, possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs, and possession of a bladed article in a public place. He has since been released on bail.
