A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Bedford on Saturday, June 5, 2021 in which a man was stabbed.
At around 4pm, officers were called to a report that a man had been stabbed as he sat in his car in Maitland Street.
A 70-year-old man was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds to his chest and neck. He has since been released from hospital after medical treatment and is obviously extremely shaken up by the whole experience.
Police have since arrested and charged Mahmood Amime, 21, of Iddesleigh Road, Queen’s Park, with Section 18 grievous bodily harm, attempted robbery, affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, burglary and theft of a pedal cycle.
Amime appeared at Luton Crown Court on Monday, June 7, and was remanded into custody pending a future court date..
