Twiggy saved the day for her owner in dramatic river rescue

On Thursday July 1, 2021, a women who entered the River Great Ouse at the popular Felmersham bridge, near Bedford needed to be rescued by the Fire and Rescue services.

The unnamed women was trying to rescue Rosie one of her dogs, which had run in to the river.

The women found herself in difficulty when she became stuck in the mud.

Fortunately, the women’s other dog Twiggy ran and raised the alarm by getting people to follow her to the river bank.

The Fire and Rescue Services from Bedford and Kempston were called and they extracted the women safely from the river.
