A message from: Mark Woods, CEO of CMAT

Sharnbrook Academy Federation (SAF) and its five schools – Sharnbrook Academy, Lincroft Academy, Harrold Primary Academy, Great Ouse Primary Academy and Oakley Primary Academy – are to join with Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT).

CMAT was formed 10 years ago. The Trust was founded with a simple and clear vision – to provide, support, and champion high-quality education at the heart of local communities.

CMAT has developed a strong record as a successful Trust across primary and secondary phases with local schools working closely together.

It has grown from one school to 18, and now, with SAF joining with us, this number will reach 23.

The Regional Schools Commissioners has given the green light for the SAF schools to join CMAT on September 1, 2021.

From next term much will look and feel the same at SAF schools. They will all still have the same name and you will see the same familiar, friendly faces in the school’s leadership teams and teaching staff.

A programme of site improvements and IT upgrades are underway over the summer, with more planned over the next year.

At a school governance level, many of the existing local governors will remain in place to represent the different communities, parents and local organisations and businesses.
