The newly refurbished sports hall and squash courts at John Bunyan Sports & Fitness will be reopened by Olympic medalist, Gail Emms, MBE, on Saturday, February 26, 2022.
The £45,000 update to the facilities at the centre, operated by Fusion Lifestyle on behalf of Bedford Borough Council, has just been completed and, to celebrate, a community open day will take place all day on Saturday, February 26.
Once Gail has opened the hall and courts, the Open Day will give local residents the opportunity to try the facilities and classes on offer.
Offering something for everyone the Open Day will host a mixture of free taster sessions and paid activities including:
• Soft Play – 60-minute sessions for just £2 for non-members
• Free one day passes to the state-of-the-art gym
• Free 60-minute bookable Badminton sessions from 9am – 1pm, with complimentary coaching from No Strings Badminton
• Roller skating with introductory sessions and Roller Disco, with walk in sessions available from 2pm – 5pm
• Free Group Exercise Classes from 9.15am – 1.15pm including Body Attack, Body Combat and Yoga
• Free 60-minute Squash Court sessions from 9am – 5pm, with coaching available from members of Bunyan Bulls
• Free Table Tennis from 9am – 5pm
The fun packed day will give residents in the Bedford area the chance to try something new and meet the friendly team at John Bunyan Sports & Fitness, learning more about their expertise and the facilities available.
