The remodeling of Bedford’s High Street took many months and a lot of your money but in the end it looked pretty good.
Then last month a utility company comes along and totally screws it up.
They’ve dug up the pavement to do some work and then ‘relaid it’ with ‘corporation’ standard paving slabs.
And they haven’t even done a good job of that – there are gaps and rocking slabs, totally ruined it.
Surely the Borough Council kept some of the new, expensive, paving material in reserve, just for this eventuality?
Who on the council signed this ‘compensation waiting happen’ work off?
Back in November 2021 the Borough council announced the proposed purchase of a street cleaning machine. Well it hasn’t been on the pavements of the High Street yet!
