According to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), transport is the largest producer of ‘greenhouse gas’ emissions by sector in the UK.

Transport alone produces around 27% of the UK’s total emissions. The majority of this, 97%, comes from road transport vehicles.

Time to shunt more of this moving of freight on to the railways.
