‘Future Bedford’ art exhibition at Higgins Gallery

Castle Newnham is delighted that one of its young artists has been recognised for his entry into the Harpur Trust 2022 Art Exhibition.

The theme of this year’s competition was Future Bedford and Petru in Year 6 was awarded second place in the category for his work featuring the two faces of Silver Street. His piece was made during a ceramic workshop held earlier in the year with Bedfordshire artist Amanda Silk. Petru said: “I chose to use the sculptures as they have a certain charm and should be preserved for the future.”

Prize winners and selected entries are featured at the Higgins Gallery. Shontaya, also in Year 6 was commended for her entry and the works of Isabelle, Year 6 and Ali, Year 8 entries are also displayed in the exhibition

The exhibition is free and open to the public until September.
