Construction on Sandy’s new high-quality concrete skatepark at Sunderland Road Recreation Ground (SG19 1RQ) has been completed and it has passed a full RoSPA inspection.
It is now available for use. It is already proving very popular with local skaters, BMX riders and scooter users.
There will be an official opening event – a Skate Jam, which will be taking place on Saturday, September 24, 2022, between 12.00 and 16.00.
The afternoon is being organised by Rubicon who are a partner to Maverick, the contractors who have designed and built the park, and it is part of their contract with Sandy Town Council to run this event.
After some formalities, an MC will organise informal competitions, with free skate sessions running in between.
