Family and Children’s Early-Help Services (FACES) is pleased to announce that Michaela Martindale (pictured bottom of story) has been appointed as their new CEO, succeeding Wendie Harvey who retired in March 2022.

Upon the appointment, Chairperson Eve Burt MBE, shared her thanks to both postholders. “FACES would like to extend our gratitude to Wendie for her dedication to the charity, having successfully steered the charity since its 2013 launch.

“We are now looking forward to the future under the leadership of Michaela, who has a significant amount of experience and knowledge to ensure we deliver even more services to our community.”

Michaela has been a valued member of the FACES team for 9 years, having previously been a volunteer of the charity (formerly Home Start) from 2005-2008, and came with a wealth of experience having worked in childcare for over 30 years, including working at children’s centres in Bedford Borough.

Her work at FACES has involved supporting families under a number of projects and she has successfully built relationships with families, colleagues and other professionals.

Taking up the role, Michaela confirmed her ongoing commitment to the charity; “I am really excited to now be leading this amazing charity and I look forward to continuing working with our strong team of trustees, staff and volunteers to continue fulfilling the FACES mission, which now more than ever before is such an important help to our community and its families

As a team we have an excellent reputation for working in partnership with a range of agencies such as health, social services, voluntary organisations and education, to ensure services are complementary, coordinated and community orientated. Continuing to develop these relationships will ensure that FACES remains consistent in offering a tailored package of support, which is unique to the services we offer.”

FACES support families so that they can provide a safer, happier and healthier home in which their children can thrive and reach their full potential.
