Christmas is finally upon us and The Harpur Centre in Bedford is getting everybody in the Christmas spirit with their family friendly entertainment, bound to put a smile on your face.
Making a special visit to the Centre in December will be children’s favourite Santa, taking residence in his Grotto every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas Eve.
Santa’s Grotto will be open Saturdays from 10am – 5pm, and Sundays 10am – 3pm. On Christmas week, Santa’s Grotto will be open 10am – 5pm weekdays and 10am – 3pm on Christmas Eve.
Children can tell Santa their Christmas wishes, receive a gift and can purchase a professional photo through our partners Event-Photos with the main man himself. It is a ‘walk in’ only grotto, so no need to book in advance. Shoppers can take advantage of a twenty-percent discount on entry, by quoting discount code HC1 upon arrival at the Grotto.
Alongside Santa’s Grotto, Harpur Centre will be giving shoppers the opportunity to put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas, with the installation of The Wishing Tree. Supported by Heart Radio and Early Childhood Partnership, all gifts kindly donated to the Wishing Tree will be distributed across Bedfordshire by organisations that support underprivileged and less-fortunate children and families.
Shoppers are asked to head to the Wishing Tree, select a ‘Boy’ or ‘Girl’ gift tag, choose an appropriate gift from a retailer at the Centre, attach the gift tag to the unwrapped gift and then drop the gift off back at the tree by Sunday 18th December, when donations will no longer be accepted. Volunteers for the organisation will then collect donations and distribute them equally across the county.
Speaking on how Harpur Centre is getting the shoppers into the Christmas spirit, Centre Manager Samantha Laycock commented:
“The Centre is delighted that we are hosting the wonderful Wishing Tree, which has been a lifeline for underprivileged families in the area now for well over a decade but more prevalent during these tougher times. Santa can’t wait to see you all in his Grotto located in the basement this year. Tis the season to start shopping so we look forward to welcoming everyone this December now the Christmas decorations are lit.”
