Two men appeared before a crown court judge on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 accused of 17 offences following a major police operation at a block of flats in Bedford.
Paul Burton, 44, and Nathan Turner, 36, were arrested after a stand-off at Bury Court, Church Lane on Sunday, November 27.
The police were called to the flats at around 6am and evacuated some residents.
Both men were arrested by that evening. The defendants, who lived in the flats, were charged with possession of imitation firearms and robbery.
Paul Burton was also charged with with attempted murder, making threats to kill and criminal damage.
Nathan Turner has additionally been charged with four offences of criminal damage.
Both men appeared at Luton Crown Court via a video link from Bedford prison.
Judge Michael Simon remanded them in custody for a further hearing on 20th January. A provisional trial date was set for May 22.
