Allotment holders now have a place to spend a penny

The Mile Road Allotmenteers have worked very hard in Project ‘we need a new Loo’.

They started the initiative early last year as a response from the members with a need to upgrade the current facility and make them accessible for everyone.

The cost was a bit outside of their usual budget but decided to apply to some of the local Charitable Trusts and local businesses and of course carried out fundraising themselves.

The ‘Woo Woo Loo’ was the chosen type as it met all their needs.

They are grateful to Bedford Borough Council, the Harpur Trust, the Gale Family Trust and the Wixamtree charitable trust, Richardson Milling UK, SDC and of course all at the Allotment.

The High Sheriff has kindly agreed to formally open the ‘Loo’ as in his words he has never attended a Loo opening before and this is a very fine one indeed.
