Announcement from the team at the Place Theatre
“In light of the recent announcements the team at The Place Bedford want to take a moment to share our deep sadness and profound grief at the tragic loss of Laura Pottinger and Sarah Waller.
“Laura and Sarah were close friends, as well as passionate and prodigious supporters of cultural activity, both in Bedford and beyond.
“Laura helped guide Bedford Players Trust and The Place Bedford forwards through challenging times – always offering her help and insight to artists, creative people and community organisations with a generosity of spirit and cheerful optimism.
“She will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to live and work alongside her. Sarah was a trustee of Bedford Players Trust for a number of years, supporting us through our growth and development – always offering insight and skills from her wealth of experience.
“Our hearts are with the families at this awful time, and we’d like to express the deep sadness that all in The Place Bedford community feel at this devastating news. We wish to offer our help and support to the families as they come to terms with the loss of two vibrant and prodigious personalities.
“If any members of The Place community wish to gather to share their thoughts and memories of Laura and Sarah, our Saturday coffee morning on April 29, will offer a space to those who wish to congregate (9:00am-12:00pm) We will continue to confirm further details as the families release information.”
