A former prison officer, lab technician and delivery driver are amongst the 11 new officers hitting patrol in Bedfordshire.

Last Friday (April 21, 2023) 11 officers celebrated passing initial training, after spending the past 22 weeks in classroom training learning the basics of policing.

The ceremony involved receiving certificates from the Chief Constable Trevor Rodenhurst and Police and Crime Commissioner Festus Akinbusoye whilst celebrating with their teammates, teachers, and family and friends.

The new officers will combine the skillsets and experience from their previous roles with the knowledge gained from initial training when they start taking on live jobs in Bedfordshire next week. They will be supported throughout the next few months in the student hub where they will work alongside a tutor who will guide them through the jobs they attend.
