Bedford Borough Council has successfully delivered a new building with six state-of-the-art ICT classrooms and an extension to the dining area at Biddenham International School & Sports College, Biddenham.

The project managed by Pick Everard with Ashe Construction, was completed on budget and on time, with enough time for the school to effectively plan ahead of the new school year in September.

Cllr Jane Walker, portfolio holder for Families, Education and Children’s Services, said: “We are delighted to have delivered this important project for Biddenham International School & Sports College. The new building and extension will provide students with state-of-the-art facilities for their studies, and the additional dining space will allow for a more comfortable and enjoyable lunch experience. We worked closely with Pick Everard and Ashe Construction to ensure that the project was delivered on budget and on time, and we are very pleased with the end result.”

David Bailey, Principal at Biddenham International School & Sports College, said: “Thanks to this development our students have some fabulous new classrooms, dining area and Science Labs to enhance their school experience and future success. We would like to thank the Local Authority for supporting us to offer more school places to our local community and Ashe for producing such excellent facilities and being so accommodating.”

Sean Conneely, Project Management Director at Pick Everard said, “We at Pick Everard are very proud to have delivered this outstanding addition to the school. Working closely with Bedford Borough Council, the School Principal, David Bailey, and Ashe Construction, we have provided the facilities needed to serve this and the next generation of Bedford’s children.

Andrew Morris, Business development Director at Ashe Construction said: “”We are delighted to have completed these fantastic new educational facilities for Biddenham International School & Sports College. Construction works were undertaken at a number of different locations around a live school environment, but working as a collaborative team with all project partners, the new buildings were delivered with minimal disruption to the school day to day operations, and to the highest safety levels. It’s been a real pleasure working within such a supportive team environment and wish all users many happy years of use in their new facilities.”

The new building and dining extension will enable Biddenham International School & Sports College to continue to provide a high-quality education for its students, and will ensure that the school is well-equipped to meet the challenges of the future. Including enabling the school to increase its admission numbers to 240 children per year to reflect the growing nature of the borough and the popularity of the school.

Bedford Borough Council is committed to investing in education and providing the best possible facilities for its students.
