Hailing from Bedford, growing up with the American roots music of her Anglo-Indian grandmother’s record collection.
Singer/songwriter Danni Nicholls has been paving her way on the UK Americana scene for over a decade, building a loyal fan base and much critical praise.
With the wind still in her sails from three critically acclaimed album releases, award nominations, songs featured in shows like Sons of Anarchy plus extensive tours and opening slots with the likes of The Secret Sisters and Lucinda Williams, Danni, her powerful voice and her dynamically poetic original songs are ever-gaining presence and reach especially since relocating to Nashville, TN in 2023.
Danni will be performing a full band show at Bedford Esquire’s on Friday, May 10, 2024, showcasing songs from across her catalogue including brand new Country album ‘Under The Neem Plum Tree’ – a collection of classic covers mixed with reworked and brand new originals.
Garnering comparisons to artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Brandi Carlile and Roseanne Cash, Danni’s captivating performances are all but guaranteed to melt your heart into the soles of your boots.
Her passionate delivery, beguiling voice, mesmerising guitar skills and charmingly engaging between-song banter are compelling folks far and wide to fall under her spell.
Special guest for the night will be Nashville’s Sarah Peacock with her soul-stirring melodies, raw, honest lyrics and powerhouse vocals reminiscent of Heart’s Ann Wilson.
