Historic murder case comes the Luton Crown Court

A jury was sworn in on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in the case pensioner couple accused of being involved in the murder of the man’s first wife 42 years ago.

The body of Carol Morgan, who was aged 36, was found in her shop, Morgan’s Food Fare, in Finch Crescent, Linslade, Leighton Buzzard on August 13, 1981.

Allen Morgan, 73, and his second wife Margaret Morgan, now 75, of Stanstead Crescent, Woodingdean, Brighton, deny conspiracy to murder, with others unknown, between January 1, 1981 and August 14, 1981.

On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Luton Crown Court a jury was selected and the charge read out to them.

The judge, Mr Justice Martin Spencer, told the jury to return to the court on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

He said he would be dealing with matters of law involved in the case until then.
