Two charged with importing heroin from Pakistan

Two men from Luton have been charged with drugs offences, after one-and-a-half kilogrammes of heroin was seized.

As part of an investigation by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU), two separate packages of heroin were seized on arrival from Pakistan.

Investigating officers subsequently carried out warrants at two residential addresses in Luton and arrested three men.

Asif Hussain, 45, and Ashiq Hussain, 44, both of Ivy Road, Luton, were interviewed by officers and subsequently charged with two counts of importation of class A drugs (heroin).

The third man, aged 43, was released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Both Asif and Ashiq Hussain appeared at Luton Magistrates’ Court and were remanded ahead of a hearing at Luton Crown Court on November 28, 2022.
