Staff and students from The Bedford College Group are helping the wider community during the current Covid-19 crisis on a range of levels.

From individuals looking out for neighbours while working from home, to professionals volunteering to help the NHS and other organisations at weekends.

Samuel Morgan is a dental professional who works for the college as a Dental Lecturer and Dental Programmes and Project Lead, placing young people in employment with surgeries as nurses.

He is now volunteering with the NHS and the community group One Bedfordshire at weekends.

Samuel is enlisted in a variety of roles with these two organisations, including collecting shopping, taking members of the public to their doctor or hospital, administering community first aid and, telephone check-in and chat care.

“There is a great need for people with the right skills, I am happy to help,” said Sam, pictured here at Luton & Dunstable Hospital.
