An aerobics instructor has organised a charity fundraiser after being inspired by her dad going through cancer treatment.
Tanya West has organised a spinathon and head shave at Flitwick Leisure Centre, run by leading leisure operator Everyone Active in partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council.
Tanya’s dad Steve Spavins is undergoing treatment for oesophageal cancer, encouraging her to put on the event which is due to go ahead on Saturday, June 10. All funds raised will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Taking place in the group cycling studio, the spinathon will start at 8.10am and finish at 6.45pm, taking in 12 separate sessions with several different instructors.
Tanya will then have her head shaved at 7pm, in an effort to further increase donations.
The local community can book on to individual spinathon sessions via the Everyone Active app or website.
Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so via a JustGiving page here, or alternatively make a cash contribution on the day.
Tanya has set a target of £1,500 and is already more than half way to achieving that.
She said: “I’d like to thank everyone who has donated to the spinathon and head shave so far. I’ve been overwhelmed by people’s generosity and hopefully there are a few more donations to come.
“The more money we raise, the more motivation we will have to get through the physical challenge on the day and the better we will do for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
Everyone Active’s general manager, Gemma Garner-Higgins, said: “We are delighted to host this event, which is for an amazing cause.
“Tanya has done a brilliant job organising the spinathon and head shave and we wish her all the best of luck. We will be cheering her on throughout the challenge.”
