Men accused of murder stand trial at Luton Crown court on July 15, 2020

The trial has begun of two people accused of the murder of Jefferey Wiafe in Milton Keynes on New Year’s Eve last year.

Tyriq Alowooja, aged 20, of Vellan Avenue, Fishermead, Milton Keynes and Brooke Turrell, 20, of Stratford Road, Wolverton, appeared at Luton Crown Court on Monday, July 13, 2020, to plead not guilty to murdering Mr Wiafe, who was 22.

Brooke Turrell also denied a second charge of assisting an offender.

Following the selection of the jury of six men and six women today, Judge Charles Gratwicke told them the case would be opened to them on Wednesday of this week.

They were also told the trial is expected to last three weeks.

The charges are in relation to an incident in Carradine Crescent, Milton Keynes, on New Year’s Eve when Jefferey Wiafe, from Milton Keynes died.
