The NSPCC Bedfordshire branch are launching an online luxury gift fair on September 14, with all profits and a 10% donation from online sales going to Childline.
The committee are renowned for hosting the annual luxury gift fair in Bedfordshire, which generates donations in excess of £20,000 every year. However, due to government restrictions, the usual event cannot go ahead this year, so the dedicated and determined team of branch volunteers decided to offer regular stallholders the opportunity to promote their gifts online, and give buyers the chance to shop via the new website www.woburnluxurygiftfair.co.uk, which will remain live and open for business until December 15.
Shoppers can expect a wide variety of items when they log on, including fashion, jewellery, country wear, food, drink and homeware. Buyers simply click on the shop of their choice, which will divert them to the sellers’ websites, add items to their basket and in the coupon code section during the checkout process type in ‘Woburn’ to donate 10% of the cost of their purchase to Childline.
Camilla King, who organised the event is a volunteer for the NSPCC Bedfordshire branch, she said: “Every year the luxury gift fair generates a large donation for Childline and with the outbreak of the pandemic we were forced to think outside the box.”
“Children need Childline now more than ever, so it’s vital that we raise as many donations as possible for this essential service.”
“Even after we launch, we will happily welcome new stallholders to the website, so customers can keep coming back. For stallholders the fee is £25 plus 10% of the sale cost.”
The branch will also be holding a prize draw via our Just Giving page. For every £10 donation submitted, one ticket will be entered into the draw. The amazing prizes on offer include a three or four day stay at Center Parcs, Woburn Forest, an overnight stay at Champneys Health Spa, an overnight stay in the Peak District with entry to Chatsworth House and a VIP Tour of Woburn Safari Park.

A donation of £4 could answer a child’s call to Childline, £190 could pay for a Childline supervisors shift and right now the service cannot respond to one in three children who call.
