Man on murder charge appears in Luton Crown Court

A 21-year-old man appeared in court on Tuesday January 5, 2021, accused of the murder of teenager Jay Fathers in Milton Keynes.

Callum Aylett, from Walsh’s Manor in Stantonbury in the city is accused of murdering 18-year-old Jay and the attempted murder of a 49-year-old man.

Police were called to reports of an altercation in Walsh’s Manor just before 3am on New Year’s Day and found the two victims.

Jay died in hospital. The 49-year-old man was in a serious, but stable condition.

Aylett was remanded in custody by Judge Lynn Tayton QC at Luton crown court.

A plea hearing was set for March 23 this year.

A trial date was fixed for July 26 this year.
