A Houghton Regis man who who went on an offending spree damaging property, breaking a restraining order and assaulting his girlfriend has been given a five month jail sentence.
The offences were committed over a short space of time in November of last year at a time when Dean Phillips was sofa surfing and struggling with his mental health issues Phillips, 33, appeared in custody on Tuesday, February 16, at Luton Crown Court to be sentenced.
The five month prison sentence he received from Judge Steven Evans meant he could be released immediately because the time he has spent on remand will be counted.
He pleaded guilty to two offences of damaging property, two common assaults and breach of a restraining order.
The court was told on November 18, last year he went to the home of a man and kicked his front door causing damage to it.
Three days later he defied a restraining order not to go to the home of a former girlfriend and called out to her.
He then carried out two offences of common assault on his current girlfriend kicking her, pressing his fingers into her temple, dragging her by her hair and cutting it.
He also damaged property in the woman’s home.
Phillips had been drinking when he committed the two assaults Judge Evans was told on Tuesday Phillips now has a stable address to go to in Houghton Regis.
