At a meeting of North East Bedfordshire Conservative Association (NEBCA), held at the Sharnbrook Hotel on Thursday, November 7, Mr Richard Fuller was selected to be their prospective candidate to be MP for the constituency.
Mr Fuller was the former MP for Bedford and Kempston until the last General Election in 2017 when the seat was won by Mohammad Yasin (Labour).
The NEBCA seat became vacant following the retirement of Alistair Burt earlier this year. Mr Burt attended the declaration and gave fulsome support to Mr Fuller.
Alistair has had the Conservative party ‘whip’ returned to him and he said he is travelling the country to throw his weight behind the Conservative campaign.
Mr Fuller voted ‘Leave’ in the 2016 referendum and he says he is fully behind an orderly ‘brexit’ but would also support leaving without a deal.
