BedfordBID, the organisation which represents 100s of businesses in the town centre, has reacted quickly to the latest Government announcement about a month-long lockdown.

“Naturally, many of our businesses are disappointed by this news, having worked so hard to keep their customers, and staff, safe during the ongoing Covid-19 situation,” said Director Christina Rowe.

“Our message is that a lifting of this lock-down willing, Christmas IS coming to town in December, with seasonal lights, and the sights of festive shop windows.

“In the meantime, we are asking the public to “Remember November Online”  and look at our many Love Bedford platforms and follow the links to our independent and town centre businesses who are selling via their own websites or FB.”

Love Bedford is the marketing brand of Bedford Business Improvement District (BID), an elected body which exists to support town centre businesses.

BIDs are recognised by central government as being valuable, non-political links, between private business and public authorities. BedfordBID represents businesses within various initiatives currently being given government money to reinvigorate town centres.
