Man in custody on suspicion of causing the death of two men

Two men in their 60s were killed when they were hit by a car in Bedford on Saturday October 31, 2020.

The 32-year-old male driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Bedfordshire police said they received reports of a collision outside Bedford Sixth Form in Bromham Road at around 12.22pm.

Emergency services attended and the two men were pronounced dead at the scene.

While formal identification has not yet taken place, their next of kin have been informed.

Sergeant Aaron Murphy from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “We are currently carrying out several lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances which led to this tragic incident.
