Did you witness New Year’s Day Bedford street affray?

Bedford Police are investigating an affray which happened in Offa Road, Bedford at approximately 1am on New Year’s Day, and they are appealing for witnesses to the incident.  

A group of approximately ten people, including men and women, were involved in a verbal altercation before the situation escalated into physical violence.   

Three of the offenders were described as white men who were shirtless, and some of the group were armed with various weapons, including a large knife.

Detective Sergeant Patrick Allerton, who is supporting the investigation, said: “As this incident happened shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day, we are hoping there may be a number of people who might have witnessed it.   

“This type of violent incident will not be tolerated in our county, and we are keen to speak to anyone who has information that might lead to us identifying the perpetrators.”
