Harpur Centre in Bedford has unveiled a new Community Wall to support and promote events and projects in the local area.

A noticeboard has been installed on our new community wall providing a platform for local people, community groups and organisations in Bedford.

The board is designed to inform shoppers and residents about what is going on within the Centre and locally to support our ongoing initiative to link in with the Bedford community. Its unveiling also coincides with the re-opening of the seating area in the basement.

The installation, located in the basement of the Harpur Centre, is adjacent to the Captain Tom Mural by the toilet provision. It represents a true community feel with its colourful and animated characters and gives us all the opportunity to advertise events and initiatives in and around the area.

Samantha Laycock, Harpur Centre Manager, commented: “The community noticeboard gives you the chance to discover and read about some of the brilliant things that are happening right now in the Bedford community.

Along with the re-opening of the seating area in the basement, we are also excited to welcome Fashion retailer, Cube to our already existing strong retailer line up together with Geek Retreat who will be opening their store this summer.

“We want our shoppers to continue to enjoy their experience with us and although restrictions have been relaxed, we will still continue to put safety measures in place for the comfort of all our visitors.

Face coverings are recommended to be worn throughout the Centre and hand sanitising stations will remain in place. During this period of relaxation, we once again ask for your co-operation to ensure your safety and help protect the health of your fellow shoppers, store teams and Centre staff.”
