On Sunday, November 8, 2020, Cllr Carl Meader performed the annual laying of a wreath on behalf of Kempston council at the town’s war memorial.
Most of the local organisations, Scouts, Guides, youth groups, police, fire and rescue, Borough Council, Royal British Legion and others had already laid their tributes during the day.
Cllr Meader, the Mayor of Kempston, laid his wreath accompanied by the sound of traffic in the background, which in normal years would have been stopped.
A recording of the last post was played preceding the two minutes silence.
Here’s hoping that next year will see a return to the normal order of things!
